Nestled in a small town lies one of the greatest hidden gems of southeast Idaho, Teton House.
Teton House is homed by Menan, Idaho. This town is a farming community founded in 1879 and has so much rich history as it was one of the first Idaho settlements!
Now that you have a bit of history in regard to the area Teton House resides, let’s explore why this is considered a “Hidden Gem” of Idaho.
The Aesthetic
Because Menan is such an old town, the building’s architecture beckons to its heritage. The inside has been renovated a few times, but Teton House plans to continue to retain the historical aesthetics. I would say that the interior design has a western bar feel, this could be due to the fact that it was originally Watson’s Bar & Sandwich Shop before becoming what is now Teton House.
The Owners
Leo Hancock and Danielle Dexter moved to Rigby, Idaho from Washington state to raise their family. Together they have three daughters and four grandchildren.
Meet Leo! He is an owner and operator alongside his wife for Teton House. Leo developed a reputation of creating a juicy steak while offering catering services in his lodge style property located in North Bend, WA.
Meet Danielle! She too has quite a bit of experience herself. Danielle developed a culinary background both in her education and in her chef, management and front-end roles while in business in Washington.
The Name
I asked Danielle about where the name “Teton House” came from. She explained that they were inspired by the mountains that surround Southeast Idaho, Teton Mountains. When they first opened Teton House 5 years ago, they made a goal to serve the freshest meats and seafood. Danielle and Leo wanted to create food better than home cooked meals.
The Food

Teton House Restaurant is an American Steakhouse and partners with Great Northwest for Fresh Seafood. They offer three different menus:
Lunch (served until 4pm)
Dinner (served after 4pm)
Sunday (offers a variety of Breakfast options)
*They also offer a Beer, Wine, and Liquor menu.
Their most popular time is dinner as it is for most restaurants. People are often attracted to Teton House because of the reputation they are continuing to abide by. That is that no one makes a steak quite like them.

What Do The Owners Love Most About Teton House?:

Leo and Danielle started this restaurant five years ago and have built it from the ground up. They want their customers to know how much they appreciate them and their business. Danielle explained that all of her employees and customers are like family. They have all become so close over this adventure. Both Leo and Danielle want their customers to leave feeling that they had great fresh food with great customer service.
